{"id":107,"date":"2007-05-23T07:23:28","date_gmt":"2007-05-23T14:23:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/labs.zeh.com.br\/blog\/?p=107"},"modified":"2007-10-09T08:10:06","modified_gmt":"2007-10-09T15:10:06","slug":"itunes-like-interface-in-flash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/labs.zeh.com.br\/blog\/?p=107","title":{"rendered":"iTunes-like interface in Flash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, it was just a matter of time: Steven D of <a href=\"http:\/\/blitzagency.com\">BLITZ Agency<\/a> has posted <a href=\"http:\/\/labs.blitzagency.com\/?p=314\">a new experiment on the BLITZ Labs<\/a> where he uses <a href=\"http:\/\/www.papervision3d.org\/\">PaperVision3D<\/a> to mimic iTunes&#8217; 3d covers interface in Flash.<\/p>\n<p>Granted, one of the reasons I&#8217;m excited to post about it here is that he also happens to use <a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/tweener\/\">Tweener<\/a> to help on the visual transitions when moving the 3d covers on the screen (thanks for the kind words, Steven!). However, regardless of the libraries used on its implementation, it&#8217;s a pretty interesting example, and a good glimpse on the kind of 3d interface patterns we&#8217;ll see more and more on Flash from now on &#8211; it&#8217;s 3d, but not the <em>in-your-face!<\/em>, disruptive kind of 3d. It&#8217;s 3d done with the user experience in mind; cognitive <em>amplification<\/em>, not obfuscation.<\/p>\n<p>I guess it&#8217;s one of those things that we will barely notice as it&#8217;ll take some time to register with developers and the public, and of course not every type of interface will benefit from it, but it&#8217;s definitely the next step for rich web interface design.
